Caterpillar is marking a major milestone at Bauma by celebrating its 100th anniversary and showcasing its vision for the future of construction equipment. At the 2025 Bauma show, the company will display a wide array of machines and technologies designed to drive the industry forward. Caterpillar’s exhibit, titled “The Next 100 Years,” spans 9,000 square meters and highlights the company’s ongoing commitment to innovation, sustainability, and safety.
Among the 48 machines featured at the show, 17 are new or updated models, reflecting Caterpillar’s dedication to expanding its product line in line with market demands. These include enhancements to their battery-electric machines, additions to the demolition and waste handling categories, and expansions to their next-generation lineup. This is all part of Caterpillar’s broader strategy to reduce carbon emissions and integrate new technologies for more efficient, safer operations on job sites.
Tony Fassino, President of Caterpillar’s Construction Industries Group, expressed that the exhibition would be a tribute to the company’s heritage while showcasing its commitment to building a smarter, more sustainable world. He emphasized that alternative power sources and advanced technologies are essential to the future of construction, and Caterpillar is prepared to meet these needs in collaboration with its global dealer network.
A key attraction at the Bauma event will be the Cat Performance Centre, which will focus on the latest machinery, technologies, and autonomous systems. Visitors will have the opportunity to see firsthand how the latest Caterpillar machinery can help reduce fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. The exhibit will also feature the battery-electric 301.9 mini hydraulic excavator and the 906 compact wheel loader. These machines, available through select dealer rental fleets, exemplify Caterpillar’s shift towards electrification in its product lineup.
In addition to the electric machines, the show will feature new updates to the 320 and 950 GC prototypes, offering customers a glimpse of Caterpillar’s latest electrification efforts and charging infrastructure. An electrified jobsite simulation will demonstrate how real-world customers are already benefiting from these advanced technologies.
For compact track loader enthusiasts, Caterpillar will present three newly introduced next-generation models. These loaders come with improved engine power, enhanced lift capacities, and advanced operator comfort features. The next-generation D8 dozer will also make its appearance, showcasing a new operator station with added comfort features and full assist options.
Caterpillar will also debut the 140 AWD next-generation grader, which is still in prototype stage but promises to consolidate two existing platforms into one, offering more features and technologies for customers. A new material handler, the MH3032, designed for the scrap industry, will also be displayed, with advanced safety features such as 2D E-fence and Swing Assist for enhanced productivity.
In the demolition, waste handling, and recycling segments, Caterpillar will feature the 330 UHD ultra-high demolition excavator with enhanced safety features, and a new variable-angle boom option for the 340 VAB. Additionally, the M323 next-generation wheeled excavators, configured for the railroad industry, will be on display.
Caterpillar will also reveal the prototype Cat 775 off-highway truck and the reintroduced 395 front shovel, designed to deliver superior performance and efficiency. As part of its commitment to sustainable energy, the company will display engines compatible with renewable fuels, such as the new C13D and the C3.6 engine, alongside mobile power solutions like the XQP115 genset and the XES60 mobile battery energy storage system.
These innovations underline Caterpillar’s ongoing mission to lead the construction industry into a sustainable and technologically advanced future.
